Billing and Collection Policy

Max Shipping and Consolidators, LLC · Last updated 22 September 2026

This policy explains when we charge you, what we do with your parcels while they are in our care, and what happens if goods are never collected. It applies to every customer account.

1. We bill after your goods arrive

You are not asked to pay for a shipment until your goods have completed their journey and are available to you at their destination.

Charges accumulate as we receive and handle your parcels in Florida, but the bill is issued to you for payment only once the container has arrived in Roatán and your goods have been unloaded and made available for collection. If a shipment does not arrive, you are not billed for it.

The sequence is:

  1. Your parcels are delivered to our Florida warehouse by the retailer or carrier, and we record each one against your customer number.
  2. We consolidate parcels into shipping boxes and measure them.
  3. The boxes are loaded into a container and the container sails.
  4. The container arrives in Roatán and your goods are unloaded.
  5. Your invoice is then issued to you for payment, and we tell you your goods are available for collection.

Where onward transport to Utila, Guanaja or La Ceiba has been arranged by ferry, your goods are handed to the ferry operator after unloading and the same billing position applies.

Shipping is charged at $18.50 per cubic foot, measured from the dimensions of the box as received or as consolidated by us, with a consolidation fee of $2.50 per parcel consolidated into a box. Applicable Honduran customs duty and tax are added to your invoice. All charges are quoted and billed in United States dollars. If an invoice is wrong, tell us and we will correct it — see our Refund Policy.

2. Our right to open and inspect consolidated parcels

By using our service you agree that we may open, inspect, measure and repack any parcel we receive for you.

Consolidation is central to what we do: we combine parcels from different retailers into a single shipping box so that you pay for one measured volume rather than several. That is not possible without opening them.

We open, inspect, measure and repack parcels in order to:

We repack goods with reasonable care. We may also be required to open a parcel by the United States or Honduran authorities, or by a carrier, and any inspection or storage charge they levy is payable by you.

3. Uncollected goods and abandonment

Goods not collected within 90 days of being made available may be disposed of or sold to cover the costs owed on them.

We tell you when your goods have arrived and are available for collection. Goods must be collected from our Roatán premises, or received from the ferry operator where onward transport was arranged.

If goods are not collected:

Any proceeds remaining after those costs have been met remain yours and will be returned to you on request. Abandonment does not cancel money you already owe us: if the goods are sold for less than the costs owed, the balance remains payable.

Keep your address, telephone number and email address up to date on your account. They are the only way we can reach you about goods waiting for collection.
