1. Who we are and what we do

Max Shipping and Consolidators, LLC, 1088 NE Industrial Blvd, Jensen Beach, FL 34957-5003, receives parcels in Florida on behalf of customers, consolidates them, and ships them by sea container to Roatán, Honduras, for collection. Onward transport to Utila, Guanaja and La Ceiba is arranged by ferry where requested.

We are a freight forwarding and package forwarding service. We do not purchase goods on your behalf and we do not act as a retailer.

2. Your account

You must open an account and use the customer number we assign to you. Use the same first and last name on every parcel so we can identify it. Do not put your customer number in the delivery address, as it can confuse the delivery carrier.

3. Charges

Shipping is charged at $18.50 per cubic foot, measured from the dimensions of the box as received or as consolidated by us. A consolidation fee of $2.50 applies per parcel consolidated into a box. Applicable Honduran customs duty and tax are added to your invoice.

An invoice is raised when your goods are loaded into a container and is issued to you for payment. Charges are quoted and billed in United States dollars.

4. Delivery times

Containers ship from Florida weekly and typically arrive in Roatán within one week of departure, after which goods are unloaded and made available for collection. These are estimates, not guarantees. Sailing schedules, port operations and customs clearance are outside our control.

5. What we will not carry

You may not send anything whose import into Honduras or export from the United States is prohibited or restricted, including hazardous goods, flammable liquids and gases, firearms and ammunition, live animals, perishable goods, currency, and controlled substances. You are responsible for the legality of what you send.

6. Customs

You are responsible for the accuracy of any declaration of contents and value. Duty, tax and any inspection or storage charges levied by the authorities are payable by you.

7. Collection

Goods must be collected from our Roatán premises, or received from the ferry operator where onward transport was arranged. We will tell you when goods are available.

8. Condition of parcels when they reach us, and the limit of our responsibility

Parcels are delivered to us by third-party carriers. We accept them in the condition they arrive in. We cannot accept liability, and are not responsible, for a parcel that reaches us damaged, incorrectly labelled, or with no name on it. We did not pack it, ship it or address it, and we have no means of knowing what was in it before it arrived.

In particular we are not responsible for:

Where goods are lost or damaged while in our care, tell us in writing as soon as you become aware of it, quoting your customer number and the tracking number. We will investigate and respond to you directly. Claims must be supported by evidence of the value of the goods, and our liability is limited to the shipping charge paid to us for the goods concerned.

Use your full name, the same first and last name every time, on everything sent to us. It is the only way we can match a parcel to you.

8a. Returns

If you ask us to return a parcel to the sender, or a parcel has to be returned because it cannot be identified, a return fee applies in addition to any carrier charge. We will tell you the amount before the return is made.

9. Uncollected goods

We will tell you when your goods are available for collection. Goods left uncollected for an extended period may attract storage charges, and we will contact you before taking any further step.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States.
